William, what did you say to these birds that they would just stand there and let you get this close? They usualy haul-tail when they see me aproaching. What's the secret?
Dallas
Hey William You nailed the exposures on those shots, the blue grosbeaks and the Orioles are flirting around right now, the field just past the the 1st bridge on the left and the field just before you make the 2nd left are filled with birds, you gots to look close because they are down in the grass.
I found another hummer nest and a bush tit nest both have chicks, Next time I see you I'll hook you up.
Looking for the weekend, see my images at the location below, please leave a comment if you like what you see, I would love to hear from you.:):
Good shots Dallas. You know things are slow when you start shooting grackles. I know the feeling and I have some grackle shots to prove it.

Thanks Froggy, Your blue is perfect.....I saw them the other day and didn't know what they were until I saw your post. I got one shot, but they are too small and fast for me to approach close enough with the 200mm, and my shot wasn't very good. That of course is the challenge, to catch a big fish with a little line, but in this case I think it'll be strickly luck. PM me the hummer location if possible, maybe I can find them, if not let me know when you plan on being there again.

Are you using a flash on these?

Thanks, yes I used the SB800 on my Nikon D70s. The light was so bad I didn't have a choice, but as you can see it worked out ok.
