My Arbor day shot

Yeah, I know this shot is nothing special but today is Arbor Day in Illinois (it is a different day in different states) so I got off my butt and went to the Morton Arboretum to take a couple pictures. Personally I think all the pictures I took sucked but at least it got me outside on a beautiful day. Thanks for looking.

This doesn't "suck" my friend. Quite lovely, in fact.

I don't have a decent photo of a Great Blue Heron, but I saw another one today! That surely counts for more than a photo....hmmmm?

I think it's a nice shot. Could work it a bit to tone down some of the highlights but other than that it works. Looks like it was a beautiful day.

Thanks Ben and Ric. Ric, your right. But it's kind of discouraging to see something beautiful and not have a clue how to capture it with the camera. Then again that is the point of going out and trying new stuff, you never know when you'll finally catch on.

Do you really think the highlights are to bright? The flowers on the tree were white, and it was 12:30 in the afternoon so under direct sunlight. I really know when to take landscapes don't I.

Thanks Jeffro, I'm not looking forward to the cloudy and rainy weekend. But it will give me time to re-install my computer, stupid broken hard drive.
