Buzz Bomb

No, fellow Anglers, this is NOT the Buzz Bomb they like to use to catch fish with in the Northwest (although I caught my first albacore tuna off San Diego with one).

THIS one is better remembered by the older UK D-grinners (we have some, right?): captured by the Canadians, this Nazi V-1 "Buzz Bomb" was finally bought by Tucson Arizona's Pima Air Museum (near Davis-Monthan AFB with thier HUGE aircraft boneyard). Hitler sent almost 6,000 of these things into Great Britain in his pathetic efforts to level London and bomb the Brits into submission.

The funky tube on top is a "pulse-jet" engine (not to be confused with a Ramjet).

I've been told that allied planes that could fly fast enough had a tactic whereby they would fly alongside a Buzz Bomb and lift up on one of its wings with the other plane's wing from underneath, essentially flipping it around and knocking it off course.

That just sounds like more fun than Man was meant to have!
