Flash differences.

I'm wondering what's the difference between the Nikon SB600 and the Nikon SB600DX. Now that I have the SB600, I cannot find a Lightsphere for it. I can only find an LS for the SB600DX. If the SB600 flash head is the same size and shape as the SB600DX, then the LS will fit mine.

Thanks!

Just wondering if anyone knows,`cos WolfCamera and the other stores don't know,`cos they've never even heard of the Lightsphere. I don't know why they wouldn't know,`cos all they have to do is compare them, but I guess they didn't wanna open two boxes to find out.umph.gif

Gary's list for an SB600 is not showing, just the SB600DX and SB800. I'm speculating that the SB600, SB600DX and SB800 are all the same in flash-head size. Am I right? Just don't wanna have to $170 more on the SB800. And I can't find the DX model. Must be an old version.

    Thanks!

    Help!
Hate to bother everyone again about this flash I have, but I still can't find out from the stores, much less online, if the flash-heads of a SB600 and the SB600DX are the same size and shape, or if the SB800 is the same size and shape as a SB600. All that's showing on the Lightsphere list that's even remotely closest to my SB600 are those other two models.

I can't order a Lightsphere until I know. The stores never heard of the Lightsphere, so they say they don't what Lightsphere will fit what. Half the stores are out of the SB800, others don't carry it, so they all have to order it. And they all say the SB600DX is old and can't be bought anymore. So I am at a stand-still until someone can tell me.

Gary Fong's customer service hasn't e.mailed me back yet. It's been awhile since I've asked them what model of his will fit my SB600. I'm speculating that the P1 model will fit, but if I'm wrong, I'll be waiting weeks to switch it out for the one that will fit. So does anyone know which one of those other two Nikon flash models is the same size and shape as mine?:D

    Thanks!

Why not measure your flash, and compare it to the 'self-sizing chart" included on his web page?

    Thanks!

    2-7/16 (wide) x 1-9/16 (height).

There's gonna be a problem with its height. The P1 that will be the closest fit is 3/16ths too short. So I guess I'll have to force it on without tearing it, and I guess it'll fit after awhile.ne_nau.gif

Or sell my SB600 on consignment and buy an SB800,`cos it may be months before he comes out with one that will perfectly fit an SB600.rolleyes1.gif

This is begining to remind me of my cars... they don't make just anything I'd like to have for them... such as mags or exhaust. The ones I want won't fit.umph.gif

The LightSphere is rather soft, not a hard plastic...it is softer than Tupperware for example. It has quite a bit of give, I would think 3/16 of an inch should be ok.

    Okay, I will.

I have no choice but to buy the one that he makes for the SB800, and just maybe it'll fit like a glove on my SB600. I still haven't ordered it yet,`cos I've been busy and not thinking about it at times.

Now that I am thinking about it, who in here has the Lightsphere, (Clear and/or Cloud) and do any of you have photos that you took with the LS that you could put in here?

Just like to make sure this is something that will make a difference with my photography. At least a lil' difference.`cos 8 out of 10 times... my photos are pitiful.umph.gif

    Thanks!
