Here's something you don't see every day, a baby chick out of the nest but not yet flying, yet still alive...

Friday evening, my wife and I found this guy in our back yard with Mom & Dad going nuts flying between our feeder and the bird, trying to keep it feed. We know the little one was still there when wen went to bed Saturday evening. When we awoke this morning, the little one was not to be found. We don't know if a cat got it (and we have some of that sort in the neighborhood) or if it was able to boost itself back to a higher perch.
