Little lion and friends

A few feline photos from a recent trip home to South Africa...

The adult lions are in captivity (Krugersdorp Lion Park). The cub is part of a breeding program and will be released into the wild when he is old enough

    This little guy wasn't too happy when this picture was taken. He wanted to sleep, but his sister was busy learning how to use her teeth by chomping down on his belly. Their jaws seem very powerful already for just eight weeks old and they are both a little battle scarred from their playful rumbles. A little while later though they had been fed and both fell asleep looking a whole lot more content.
