Modesto, California what to see?

I'll be in Modesto May 4, 5 & 6 as my hubby attends a weaving/fiber arts convention. So I have some free time to wander around.

Hubby and I will have some free time Friday afternoon to wander, so that can be a bit further. Probably from 2:30 p.m. on...

What is there to see and do? (for Saturday) Not too far, as I'll be driving the stick shift car and not my usual automatic... and need to get back to pick up said hubby from convention center.

I'm not really interested in the Farmer's market (altho I might drive by and stop if it looks interesting) -- or the Cinco de Mayo celebrations -- I'm an introvert!

I've only driven thru Modesto before on Hwy 99 -- so any locals with any words of wisdom?

I like photographing landscapes, flowers, murals, interesting buildings, scenics.

Andy has a sweet wide angle shot of rows of crops lined up, taken in the Central Valley. So the agriculture in the area might offer up some opportunities.
    Sid.

I think Andy took that shot near Pajaro Dunes or Watsonville area... but that's something to look for. Especially now since Devil's slide is closed and I'm cut off from my usual highway one farms.

I don't know if any of the orchards are still in bloom or not either, which was another thought.
