I've been googling around trying to ID this bird without success. I figured it was some kind of blackbird, but no solid matches yet.

It's pretty, but very skittish and hard to get a clean shot of.

Thanks!

    Nice
Wonderful shot of a starling. It's rare when you get them with the eyes nicely visible. I have a few starling shots, none as nice as yours.

    Regards

Thanks, Richard. Yeah, they're skittish little buggers. I was lucky to get these shots.

    BTW, great gallery(s) you have.

    Cheers,

Nice shot. We've got a few hundred thousand starlings here in Indy if you want a few, I'd be happy to box them up and send them out. :Dumph.gif

No, I'll take a pass on that, thanks. rolleyes1.gifI guess they can get a bit intense, eh?

Maybe I shouldn't be feeding them. :uhoh

Cheers and thanks for the comment!

They're horrible. I think they're worse than pigeons to be honest. The incessant screeching at all hours fo the day and night gets tiresome pretty quick. And all of the poo! Goodness. The city was going to try and poison them to prevent the histoplasmosis but then all we'd have is the aforementioned few hundred thousand starlings but they'd be rotting carcasses instead. Reminds me of the episode of the Simpsons where Bart found the two lizards that had laid the eggs and they end up taking over the town, so they release birds to kill them, then they have a bird problem, cats are up next, then something else and they finally get to gorillas. It was good stuff. rolleyes1.gif
