Took these yesterday with my new 20d...took the dog for a walk and thought I'd take the camera too. I'm still new to this so all comments and critiques welcome...

Having fun with that wonderful depth of field! Your first 2 shots are pretty good, the last one is a little over-exposed and you are losing detail on that pretty white flower. Do you shoot in RAW?? I have just started and it really helps with shots like #3. :D

In the spirit of trying to help you learn your new toy (like I'm sort of expert) I also have the 20D (yeah, like that's special) and I have found, doing the same thing you did with the yellow flowers, that you have to be real careful. Check the first photo in PS and see if you haven't over-expose one or more color channels.

    Very nice photos
Went for a hike today and took many shots of that same wild flower (the last one)
Did you see any of these that were purple?
Have fun with the new toy

    Thanks
    Fred

Thanks for all the tips everyone, I have a lot to learn when it comes to digital.

I did not see any purple flowers like the last one. There were some different flowers around the area that were much smaller that were purple though, but none of this variety. Sounds interesting though, I'll have to keep my eye out for them.
