Was heartened to see that the two pics I had the hardest time of chosing between, gave as much trouble to others as well. Good fight Dave
May all contests produce such close competition
I really liked your shot! Not just the long exposure, the texture, flow and color really grabbed my attention. Keep it up.

I knew it! I voted for it!! Very nicely done!

Wow,.. this challenge was insane. Thanks everyone for your input, it helped a lot in choosing the final image to submit.
First off, Dave, I love your photo! Great idea and execution. I knew after I seen your photo, it was going to be one of the top picks. Getting pit against your photo was like participating in the final lap at Indy, it was exciting as heck! I had to hold my breath and hope for the best throughout the entire thing!
But it was a really great race. You all did a fantastic job! Everyone has all these great ideas and I'm glad to see them put into work and recreated into really fine photographs.
I will do my very best as one of the judges of the upcoming challenge. I can't wait to see what you guys come up with. So start jotting down ideas and get cracking on taking them photos! :
Thanks again to the judges, the people who voted and the people who participated. Win or lose, the ideas you all convey through your photos really do inspire me. :cry Keep it up!!!
Thanks (for one last time :P)

I'm already looking through your entries for this challenge, theyre coming out great! However, I wont be critiquing photos as I used to in previous challenges because it could, as gubbs said to me, 'open a can of worms'. But my only suggestion is, capture a frame with a lot of emotion! and also.. think about converting to b/w, sometimes the lack of color makes the photo more attractive than the one with color. Good luck to everyone!
nice pic! i wish i had known about this thread, i would have submitted a similar picture of mine:
nice win!

Cheers,
Well, I used a suction cup mount which attaches to the car. It then in turn has several arms and other contraptions that allow me to swivel the camera into the position I want it to get into and a Manfrotto ball head is used to attach the camera to the entire rig. It can extend outwards from 3-5 feet, but the longer it extends the more vibration it will have. I also used bungee cords to attach it to the car in order to lessen the vibration. Lastly, long exposure was used to take the photo and make it look like the vehicle is moving at a high speed. In reality however, the car is only rolling at idle (around 700rpm in first gear) with 8 second exposures at F-8. I've seen several rgis on sale at B&H or you can build one yourself! I can show photos of the little rig if you're still interested in it.
YES!

Here's the rig. I'm not sure where you can purchase it now, its pretty old. But its still darn sturdy. It knows how to take some abuse. Have a look see.
I hope that satisfies your appetites. :P
