My son and I went to a ghost town with the boy scouts for a camp out [calif.] we went hiking and shooting here is one [his idea] we looked for a tripod today

    This shot is very overexposed. The detail is missing from the leaves and the color is washed out. Next time you shoot in such bright light, try taking a number of different exposures with wider and smaller aperatures and/or longer and shorter exposures. The composition is interesting, but getting the exposure right is very important to this kind of shot.

    You don't need me to tell you that it's a lot better. But is it good? Is that really the color the flower is? When you compare your shot to the real thing, what do you think? Are you satisfied? If not, why not? Start there. You need to be dissatisfied and know why before you can start improving. Once you start to look for specific ways to improve, you will do so.
    If not now, when?

    that is the true color from camera to post am i happy no but learning the d70 is now a challenge thanks one reason some of the pics in post do not look right to me if it is monitor or what i do not as yet now fuzzy edges and ripples thanks a again jeff
