.......and her hubby Frank. :D I was cleaning up my HD this weekend and found these shots that I worked up a while back. Taken at the Venice Rookery.

Thanks for looking.

Nice set Mike. I knew immediately upon viewing your post that you had a pbase account. That was because there wre two pics and two red x's. After hitting refresh a dozen times I got all 4 pics to shiw. It was worth the effort but you wouldn't have that problem with Smugmug.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Thanks Harry. I appreciate you taking a look. Sorry about the difficulty with my images loading. Maybe you should tell "the powers that be" to stop sabotaging the image links from other photo hosting sites.:uhoh :D

Funny how the "push" is on for those to switch hosting sites to SmugMug. Strang thing is that the push to SWITCH seems to coincide with the difficulty posting pics from Pbase. This site is the ONLY one that I have difficulty with my Pbase images. Why would that be? I'm sure it's just an unusual coincidence that Pbase pics are not loading correctly on THIS SITE.

I have already payed for the Pbase hosting for a while. I'd switch...as I think they both have "issues" and don't really have a FAV. hosting site. I seldom had any problems in the past, here. So..what's really up? ne_nau.gifheadscratch.gif

Same problem on other forums that I visit, pbase has much more broken links than any other hosting site.

    cheers

Ann Hang?...Ann Hong?... Ann Heng ? headscratch.gif I can't even spell this one.
Whatever it is, would you like to trade them for a couple of our CA cormorants?
    Anyway, thanks for sharing Mike

Welcome to Dgrin AFX.. You've chosen an unusual post as your first entry. All the wonderful photographs and more interesting topics to comment on...and you bring up the boring red "x" thing. rolleyes1.gif Sort of reconfirms my thoughts. :D Looking forward to seeing your photos.

Thanks for taking a look, Russ. I've got plenty of my own cormorants....but if you have any extra hawks..we could work out a deal. :D

You go ahead keep on keeping on, every pineapple eating westie will have his/her day rolleyes1.gif :lol4 blbl.gif:):

Although we will have to work at it cause yours are right on thumb.gif

    on a more serious note
I don't care much for the perspective on the Annhinga shots. That straight up in tree look is hard to make look interesting (unless he's pooping :lol)

I certainly have never had much luck at it :cry

Thanks Dallas Bill. I'll have to hire one of those "backyard" birds to keep my HD clean. I seem to get a bit unorganized lately. umph.gif

I have seen the problem on other sites such as the Nikon Cafe http://www.nikoncafe.com/vforums/showthread.php?t=72701

I started out with pbase and stayed with them for years. I still maintain a pbase account. Unfortunately their service became less reliable as time went by. Whenever I post pics from my pbase account there is a problem with the dreaded red x. I have had the problem on four different forums that I post on. The problem is not with this site but with pbase. If pbase is being sabotaged it's self-inflicted..

I saw that on NC. I was having some fun with you (and others here). It was light hearted....but the thought did cross my mind. That would just have been business. umph.gif I believe you. In my OWN experience..I've had plenty of trouble with my Pbase links HERE. More so of late. I didn't have these problems originally. I post my pics other places and don't notice a problem. That's not to say there isn't one...but if there is..I've not seen it and nobody has complained.

I'll switch...O.K.?ne_nau.gif:D Seriously...I do like certain features of SmugMug..and had I discovered them first..I'd have been a member. I still have a few months left on my Pbase account..and then I'll look into a SmugMug account.....maybe even a pro account???ne_nau.gifheadscratch.gif There are still some issues with me .

Any ideas why the RED X problems? What is the problem/sollution? (besides switching accounts at the moment). The whole situation does make me wonder about things. Hey...if I ran a site/business..I might not even allow you to post pics from another site. eek7.gif :uhoh :D

Thanks...hope you've been enjoying the osprey show. It's been an amazing thing to witness.
