Sunrise at Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

We were here for a week two months ago. I still find myself going back through pictures and wishing I was still there.

Here's a sunrise taken with the Canon 10-22 EF-S at 10mm, with the perspective corrected in PS-2.

With the correction applied, it's probably more like 12 or 14mm I reckon.

He's the same capture, but with no correction.

You get more scenery in the shot, at the expense of the wide-angle perspective distortion.

Some saturation was added, but it's still exactly how it looked at the time (although I was on acid! :wink).

I think I like the distorted one better!

    It's a beautiful sky. Have you tried doing some shadow/highlight processing? The silouhette is just a bit too much. Looks like there may be enough exposure to bring out some detail in the palm trees.

    Thanks. Here's a version of the uncorrected file with some shadow treatment applied.

    It's an interesting effect. I'd be interested in knowing if this is more what you had in mind.
