Well here is my feable attempt to keep up with you birders. This is a pair of Black Vultures, which actually barely make it into Arizona and to my knowledge do not make it North of Tucson, but these two have roosted North of for the last few years.
I shoot an 828 so shooting from a distance is out of the question. I was however able to get with in 20 feet or so of these two and able to snap off a couple of decent pictures.
Maybe I will just stick to snakes LOL!!!
Enjoy,
John Slone

I'm so digging your desert nature shots. Please keep them coming!
These vultures are just the coolest. That's amazing you got so close.
May I ask where in AZ you are? Are you shooting these close to home.
Thanks and regards,

Glad you two liked them, I was kinda worried.

Within 20 feet?
I have the 828 also -- your photos look really good, nice clean blue sky. Our local vultures have redish heads. But I have never been able to get close to them.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
