Many I use actions for repetitive things such as adding both a levels and curves adjustment layers, merging visible, and then doing batch commands of converting files to black and white or saving at 8 quality.
"A photo is like a hamburger. You can get one from McDonalds for $1, one from Chili's for $5, or one from Ruth's Chris for $15. You usually get what you pay for, but don't expect a Ruth's Chris burger at a McDonalds price, if you want that, go cook it yourself." - me

I use actions all the time if I've got repetitve tasks going on. I'll just record the repetitive task and then play it each time. I have one that takes care of switching into Lab (the right way), opening up the curves dialog, selecting the lightness layer (with the other layers visible, pulling up the smart sharpen dialog, changing to sRGB with flatten (the right way ... according to Margules anyhow), then to 8 bit, then bringing up the save dialog. That is my most time saving action I think.
Y'all don't want to hear me, you just want to dance.

    What Workflow???
Repetitive task actions is something I need to read up on and tackle right away. Now that I'm shooting often and in bigger quantities, I need some workflow help!!! I know it's not suppose to be difficult, but somehow I just haven't gotten around to it before now. Sure could have used it the past week working on wedding shots.....:bash

Actually I made a mistake, his studion bundle is actually 600$ and not
    800$.
I joined his website(Kevin Kubota) a few days ago, in hopes of getting, a trial package of his actions...and i was directed to his 200$ bundle...hehe...
    OoooOh well...:cry

1 Click Actions are my fave (http://www.1clickactions.com). Great value compared to some of the other available. Not too hot on the OTT effects but all the better for that.
There was a discussion on another forum (DP Review?) regarding the Kubota actions and the 1Click seem to come out pretty well in comparison - you certainly get a lot more for your money. I bought the full 5 volume set and there are very few duds and plenty of incredibly useful ones.
