I took this yesterday at Coolidge Park. They're highly polished stainless steel pipes and the thickness of the pipe walls are 4 inches thick. May be something the Terminator would use in battle against another Cyborg.:D

It was a beautiful day yesterday, as well as today, so I'm going back there to other areas of the park. Hope to get some nice or nicer shots.:):

I got a closer look at those pipes again today. No one's allowed to climb over the fence to get near them, so I couldn't really tell, but you may be able to tell... Do ya think its walls are 4 inches thick, or is it its OD or ID, (outter-diameter or inner-diameter)? These are fairly large pipes, and I couldn't get a really good look at them`cos of the fence.

Dunno about the pipe size, but I have a suggestion if you do go back for a reshoot. Is there a vantage point that will allow you to shoot the pipes with a better background. The building in the bg kind of clutters up the shot. The building is pretty cool looking too, so you might find an angle that gives a good view of both the pipes and the building.

I did a doubletake when this image downloaded. There is a sculpture almost identical to this at FermiLab in Batavia, Illinois.

I thought this was gonna be a motorcycle thread.... headscratch.gifrofl

Neat sculpture, but the building behind it does kind of detract a bit.

I don't really know. I'll go back Friday if it isn't raining and see where I can stand for a better angle.

    Thanks!:):

Cool. Like to see Illinois' pipe sculpture if you can get one to post someday.:):

Nah. I have a two wheeled mind. Cars/trucks never appealed to me really.

But they are neato. Vroom vroom and all that. mwink.gif

Interesting sculpture, ZR. I agree, be better to find an angle where the building doesn't fight for attention in the background. You might try opening up a bit too, maybe another half to 2/3rds of a stop. Right now your camera's turning the bright sunlit scene into middle grey.
