RSS Feed links to thumbnail on click

Hi,
I was trying to pick up the feed of a friend so I would know when they have posted new pictures. It works well enough in Google Reader with the exception of wanting to click on something.
When I click on a small thumbnail that looks interesting to me, what happens is I open up a new window that has just that thumbnail in it.
Near as I can tell, the problem is here in the RSS file:

When I looked up the RSS spec, it said that the "isPermaLink", when set to true, can be assumed to be a URL that points to the item in question. I think that is the way that Google Reader is interpreting it (even though Yahoo's aggregator does not.)
I'd really like to fix that, but near as I can tell, we don't control feeds. That's done at a system level. Right?
Thanks.
