Ok- I got a Google Map Key- and I don't know what to do with it!!!!
Is this silly or what- I said, "what the heck, Surely I need that" so I got it and I haven't the foggiest Idea what to do with it.
I think it has something to do with getting people to visit my site. Any help

    Welcome to dGrin! wave.gif
The google maps key is to enable the 'around the world' feature on your smugmug homepage, which will show a map of your recent geotagged photos directly on your homepage.
The field were you have to paste the key into should look similar to the one you see in the picture I attached. It should be either on your homepage or control panel if you're logged in.

    Hope this helps,

Another question concerning the map key: Should I get it for my smugmug name or my custom domain? I want it to work on both addresses.

    Thanks,

I'm actually not 100% positive about this and our engineer is out of the office today. I *think* you'll need to enter it for each one. But try it on your custom domain first and see.

Thanks - I did it in the order you said and it worked perfectly.

Remove mine too while you're at it please. When I generated the API key, I put in the address incorrectly into the smugmug box. I ended up with a bonus HTTP:// in the address. Duh.

I'd have removed it myself, but despite searching hight and low for where to do it, I can't figure it out.

Sorry, I know it must be frustrating, but it's very difficult for us to do manually right now. We are working on a solution, though.

Well, our engineer came through in a jiffy. Check your control panel and look for the Google Maps Key box. You can delete your key from there.

Just noticed this - cool! Looks good - haven't tried it though, because I haven't saved the codes anywhere. mwink.gif
