My Father's Wedding

He and his wife have found a photographer that they would like to take in-studio pictures with. Since neither him nor I know anything about appropriate pricing and we were wondering if $150/hour (with a total of about 2 hours) was a good price. They're having another person take pictures during the day.

We both like the quality of the pictures but were kind of shocked at the price.

Here's the site to check out his pictures.

Should my dad go for it?

Whether or not you should "go for it" depends on whether you're
comfortable with the budget and the expected result. Technically, his
portraits are very nice. That he's willing to give back (see the education
part) is a sign that he's confident in what he's doing.

If it were me, I'd shop around and see what others are charging for similar
work then try and narrow the selection to two or three and start checking
references. Once the reference check was complete, then I'd choose.

    Good luck with your choice!

That's actually on the cheaper side for quality work so if you are happy with the photographer's work, then go for it. We do portrait photography and our packages are higher-priced (but they do include a print package or print credit).
