How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

:uhoh That's not a food fight. Nice series Harry. I wasn't fortunate enough to get many egret chick shots. The Venice Rookery is a bit far to walk or ride the bike to. Have not had much luck intising someone to give me a ride ...either. :cry

Like the Chicago Cub fans always say. "Next year".

    Nice series , H.

Awesome series! That last one gives me a "feel good" moment. I'm wondering.. did you use your new gear trolley (sherpa) or whatever you called it, and how did it work for you?

Thanks for the Wonderful images Harry. I missed the rookery this month due to family illness and had to cancel our vacation.
The last time we visited was 2 years ago...such a photographic experience. Thanks again for sharing.

This is great stuff, Harry. AS you may have guessed, generic bird shots don't excite me. But when I see something more revealing about the birds' lives, and learn something, I appreciate them much more. And when the shots are as good as these - sharp, great moments, lovely color - I get downright excited!

Thanks and yes, I was using my Beach Rolly http://beachrollyusa.com/index.html

I love that thing. The biggest hassle in St. Augustine was lugging the 500mm and tripod around. I would usually just leave it in the car and break it out at the end of the day. Now I'm able to have all my gear with me.

Harry, all are good! I love the first one! I hate to see those birds acting so "unbirdly" to me, but I love the parent bird shoving the food down the throat of the baby and the expression on the baby's face!

Thank you very much Sid. I try to get some shots that are different from the standard "bird as a staute" shots. Its moments like these that they are at their most interesting.

    Hey Ginger.

Thanks but these birds are acting very "birdly". The parents fly inot the nest with food for the hatchlings and the hatchlings mug the parents for the food. Its just the way nature planne dit. :D
