Went out to Lake Draper in OKC in search of painted buntings. They are thick out there but hard to photograph. This is one from today.

    Great catch. Where is Lake Draper in relation to the airport? I sometimes go to OKC for work, and we stay on S Meridian

    I-240 and Air Depot ,but you need to take the Douglas exit and go back west to Air Depot.

    Superb detail and color even the catchlight in the eye. Lucky you... we don't have colorful birds like this in SW Pa.

    He sure is beautiful. Nice one. In my neck of the woods there
    has been only one reportably seen. Of course I had to go
