Good catch Ric. For us that's not in those southern marshes where
the tame ones live , it's special when we get shots of this
spooky bird.
Nice setting,
Al
Beautiful bird. The setting is lovely... I'm surprised you saw him in there, it would be easy to miss him against all those grasses and reeds in the background. Very peaceful.

Tame ones....:haha
A year ago I had a perfect chance to get an excellent capture of a Green Heron. Unfortunately, I was trying out an ND filter at the time and missed getting what I should have been able to get. :cry

This spot is where I have seen a Great Blue Heron a few times now. So, I did almost overlook this guy. Another 100mm would have been nice.....but I refuse to spend thousand$ on a lens.
God catch Ric. The green herons are hard to approach.

Kismet man...I just shot one of these, in almost the same setting yesterday morning. Nice capture, Ric. Like Harry said..these little ones are spooked easily. The one I shot was being chased by a bunch of snowies.

The trouble with this shot was...too wide capture the scene and miss the heron...too long and visa verse! :cry
