Ziggy I absolutely love the 10-22! It was the perfect lens to use. I think I used it the entire trip save for a couple of times I swapped the 70-200 on to isolate some landscape features.
The only weak point is that I couldn't bring myself to take it off! lol...

at 10mm sometimes it is a little soft around the edges where there is some w/a distortion... but that is to be expected. Stopped down and just past 10mm it sharpens up quite a bit. According to a friend it is sharper than his 17-40L and he liked it so much he's going to sell the 17-40 and get a 10-22 instead. The only other issue I have is that its so wide that sometimes even if you look very carefully.. you pick up things at the edges of the picture.. things you didin't want in the frame (like parts of a fence or peoples feet). But I think that is more of a function of the viewfinder coverage than the lens.
