Just beautiful Dave, I also like the loupe in the first one, gives you that sense of scale. The two middle ones are exceptional. Did you take the river shot hand held? rolleyes1.gif I don't think I saw you with a tripod once on the trip.

    Thanks guys.

I had to blow up the people or the shot just loses all meaning.

I hate to say it, but my non-tripod shots didn't turn out as well as I thought
they would, so I used the tripod for this shot.

Yep. Canyonlands for part of tomorrow, then north to Rocky Mountain National Park.

We're getting our money's worth out of the park pass. :D

Thanks Nick. It was my idea, her artist's eye, and me doing the post work.
Maybe we'll call this a joint effort. ne_nau.gif

    Thanks again.

Canyonlands was kind of a bust

The park pass is a $50 one time fee for a pass to get you into the national parks.
Many of the parks are $20 for a one week pass, so if you're going to more
than 3 parks, it's worth it to get the pass.

What Dave said, Just drive up to the park entrance, and at the guard booth, get the $50 pass for unlimited access for a year. Absolutely the thing to do if you're going to visit several national parks.

Dave, why was Canyonlands a bust?

We went to the southern part of canyonlands.
After being in Bryce, Zion and Arches, this place just didn't present the
photo ops that the others did.

Dead horse point is in a Utah state park, not canyonlands national park.
I found this out when I paid my $7 to get in to take my 5 pics of DHP.

Years ago we went to the northern half of Canyonlands, and ya know,
nothing really sticks out in my memory that it was a must see again.

This is one of the more typical shots from that southern loop.

    71467897-O.jpg

It looks like a junk pile.

But, we did go by newspaper rock to get to the southern route, so it
    wasn't a total loss.

This one needs more work. I'm not used to doing this with the laptop.

Got home on Friday, over 4600 miles logged on the wife's car.

The last installment of shots for this trip come from Rocky Mountain National Park.
All we really did was drive through, we got there later than we'd were hoping
for because of the slow roads and road construction.

    71652840-O.jpg

    71652841-O.jpg

An IR shot with the XT. It had a hot spot in the middle, but I think I fixed it well enough.

    71652849-O.jpg

A different spot along the same stream.

I haven't gotten around to Kate's stuff yet, but I will in the next few days.
It was fun meeting you and the others. I'm hoping to do this again next year, if it's done again.
