A local team v Bretagne Nantes, a French team touring the UK
All shots ISO 1600 which is not good with the 10D but i have started shooting with manual settings metering off the grass, most of these have no noise reduction or very little, shot between 7.00pm and 8.30pm overcast with some light rain
What do you think ?

    great shots.

I like how you cropped and caught the action.

    The colors look great.

Basic question, how do you meter off of the grass. It really seems to work.

Gary, I'm just going on memory here but if I remember your first threads of rugby shots correctly you were pretty much a newb at it, am I right? If so, then I would say you have taken great strides and gotten very good at it. thumb.gif Well done!

Might be fun to go find that first thread and see the differences.

Of course, if I've got you confused with someone else, then, um, never mind! :D

I don't know if i am doing it right but i set it to AV set the apperture to what i want for DOF normally wide open, point at different areas of the grass and take an average and transfer those settings to manual take a shot check histogram and adjust if needed

I agree, Gary. Your stuff gets better and better all the time. Your exposure is right on and your composition has improved vastly. Boy, Rugby sure looks painful!!! :hurt

The French play rugby? I thought the standard call was for retreat lol3.gif

All kidding aside, these are pretty nice shots. Good call to go to manual
    mode as well.
