I've recently been working with PTGUI to take panoramas of the Oregon Coast and surrounding area. Here are some:
Norton Gulch - Cape Arago
Fishing boats in the boat basin at Charleston, OR. I chose a mapping that reduced distortion of the foreground boat.
Cabbage Patch at the SSNERR outside of Charleston.

The full size images on my site are about 6000 pixels wide. If rendered at "natural size" the images would be as large as 20,000 pixels wide.
The high density of leaves and twigs are quite a challenge for the automatic stitching, but most worked without a hitch. And the nature of the light in this area usually requires automatic exposure so bands of exposure change are usually evident.
