Lexar CF firewire reader download times new vs old

I finally broke down and bought a new Lexar Pro Compact Flash Firewire Reader.
It is being used in addition to my old purple Lexar FW CF reader.
Using a 2 GB Sandisk Ultra II card
to download 1.9 gb of images, it took
new 3 min 46 sec
old 6 min 46 sec
I wonder how much faster an Extreme III or Lexar 133x card would download?
I was also able to run the old reader through the new one and download from two cards at once. I would like to do that (even add a couple more readers) but it really makes me nervous to download that many cards at once.
