Cooper's Hawk

This hawk has been flying around my house for several months, and I never could get close enough to capture him. A couple of days ago, he landed on a tree branch that is about 40 feet from my home and afforded me the chance to capture him with my telephoto. He is a bigger and rarer hawk than the Sharp-shinned Hawk, and also has a rounded tail tip instead of a squared one. In any case, he is a beautiful raptor.

My thanks to Steve (Rohirrim) for the framing technique.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
