Yosemite in Spring

Well, I can't compete with all the great Bryce/Zion shots but thought I post some reworked shots my visit to Yosemite last year. Just trying out some B&W conversions. As always, comments welcomed.

    I agree, #1 is killer. Print it big and put it on a wall! :D
    The second one is good too but could do with a little more contrast, IMHO.

    Thanks Ann. Now that you mention it I think I see what you mean about #2. Maybe not so much the overall contrast but just adding more dark tones so the highlights are not so predominant. I'll give it a try.

    OK. Here's a reworked version of the 2nd one. What do you think?

    Oops. Linked the wrong one. This should be it. The main difference is that I added a bit more contrast to El Capitan, opened the shadows around Bridalveil falls, and darkened the tree in the foreground.

    I prefer the first version. On my monitor it looks as if there is even less contrast on the second. ne_nau.gif

    Or maybe the last one just works better in color....
