Saving my preference for default in CS2?

Ok, this is a simple question but I haven't figured it out as yet. :):
I have Windows XP Pro with SP2 and all the updates. I have the Adobe Photoshop CS2 program with all it's available updates. Now, when I go into Adobe and choose a folder I have to click on the "view" icon at the top to choose "thumbnails". It always defaults and shows the "list" view and even when I close or save that picture and immediately open up another picture from the same folder, I get the "list" view and then I click the 'view' and choose "thumbnails" to take a look at the available pictures I want to load.

Is this a Windows issue? Would I need to actually adjust something inside the registry to fix this?

Thanks!
Cheers!

Are you talking about using the File Open dialog inside Photoshop??? If that dialog always defaluts to List view then that sounds like a Windows issue. I can't recall how that gets changed though.

Frost, once you get the Photoshop default figured out, tell me how to change my Windows default to List. naughty.gif I'm serious, this thumbnail default is annoying.

    Windows XP settings
In XP it's not that difficult.
1> Go to a folder in your "My Documents" folder on your desktop, probably one that has pictures in it.

2> Up at the top of the folder is "Tools" click on it

3> At the bottom is an option called "Folder Options" click on that.

4> On my computer I use "Windows Classic Folders", "Open Each Folder in it's Own Window", and "Double-Click to open and item (single-click to select)"

5> At the top is the "View" tab. Click it and then go down to make sure that the box is checked that says "Remember each folder's view settings" Then close and get out of that.

6.> Go back to any folder, and open it. right click anywhere in the folder and click "View" and select what you want (icons, thumbnails, lists, etc) You will then be presented with thumbnails, or small icons in the "list" setting.

7> Now go up to the "Tools", "Folder Options" and "View". Near the top is 2 different tabs. One is "Apply to all folders" and the other is "Reset all folders". Click on the "Apply to all folders" and then get out of that.

Your folders that you open up should now shows what that was as a default opening for "all" folders. This is, of course, that all things are working well and this is what Windows is supposed to do. *S*
    Cheers!
