Made another trip to the local wildlife preserve where one of my favorite subjects, the tree swallow, has been out in acitve droves lately.
Quick side story:I had originally set out to shoot the stilt and advocet eggs that should be hatching anyday now, but there is not much room down by the water and few photogs will set up their gear and camp out there all day. They all seem to know each other real well and don't appear very welcoming when you try to share the space with them:rolleyes So instead of shooting something new and exciting, I was forced to go through my same ole subjects:lust
Anywho, I've been trying for weeks to get better shots of these little dudes in flight with generally poor results. Yesterday I thought I did a bit better.
I'm also a huge fan of watching them feed their young lads and lasses. This little guy still has a bug stuck on the right side of his face from a previous feeding:D
Also got a rare cooperative hummer to pose for me
I'll also sneak in a bunny here. Not to be cute mind you, but to illustrate how my silent approach is coming along. If I needed a rabbit burrito to survive in the wild it was a mere tripod smack away:rofl
And of course, the time tested and true backlit GBH shot
Thanks for looking and let me know if you ever want to form the dgrin posse and help me elbow my way past the dudes monopolizing the pond:rofl:D:toni:rambo:dood

Now on to the "Dudes at the Pond". Your are a member in good standing of the "Photo Thugs". You don't need no stinking posse you just need the thugs !! :duel

Thanks Ben. Glad I'm still in good standing despite not paying my dues on time
I could have been a bit more "persuasive", but I had Mrs. Doc with me and would hate to make a scene 2 days before our second wedding anniversary
Thanks Brian! I said the same thing when I checked out your website a few minutes ago
Well then Mighty happy Anniversary to you and Mr. Doc.
Now Doc you did miss out on a great opportunity though.
You and Mrs Doc in a brawl together and then licking each others wounds afterwards, that's a great bonding technique :wow :duel

Thanks Ben She's never seen the *Fight
Club* Doc from the bachelor days. Not sure how that'd go over. Probably somewhere between "So, honey, um.... I bought this big lens" and "Check out the camera I got ya for our anniversary!"

Wow, thanks so much for the really nice comments, I very much appreciate it!
Thanks! If he was doing CPR we need to yank his cert ASAP--looks like he's going for the upper GI endoscopy:D
I've kinda given up on trying to capture those little rockets in flight, but really enjoy seeing others succeed. Bravo Jeff
And the rest are not too shabby either
