Enough of bird shots....
I'm shooting 4 leggers from now on.
All from the Dgrin Shoot out.
Got to go, I'm headed over to the Nature Park for some egret shots.
(you didn't take the stuff about the birds shots seriously did you?)

More than 4 legs?
These shots have 4 legs in them.
Thanks for looking.

I'm absolutely amazed... these are terrific... The raccoon looks like he is smiling... well sort of... ... and the dragonfly is stunning.. and the chipmunk made me smile... what a great set of shots!

I was surprised to see the raccoon in the middle of the day.
I normally only see them at dusk, or in the middle of the night tipping
over trash cans.

Dave,
Love the Egrets in the dead tree. In what nature center are you photographing? I've been going to the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge for Egrets (Old Shakopee Road and Cedar Avenue).
Craig.
Same place, just closer to the airport.
Start out at the vistors center, and pretty much walk the path down the hill.
These were from the path to the left, as you're walking away from the center.
The directions to the center can be found at the bottom of this page.

Dave,
Thanks. I have been there before, just not with a camera. Will take one next time.

I thought that 6 was a lot for where I was at. Its been years since I've been to the vistor's center area but may go there next weekend. Here are some from the past few weeks - http://chaberlack.smugmug.com/gallery/1506760

I'll be wearing a red smugmug hat.
There is a forum for Minn photographers here: http://cameratalk.org/mn/
I don't know if you've ever been there, if not, check it out.

"Not being from around these parts he did not understand the teeth and claws dat der Coon has neither. So he Tackled it. Sadly, he never made another mistake. The coon was Fine."
Bogan Tripod. Gaint Yukon 25' Bike,
Like it or not we most often get what we deserve in the end.
Thanks for the link. I have been looking for something like it for a while. I will keep an eye out for you at the nature center.

The Elk were from Rocky Mountain National Park.
These were laying around by the entrance.
Here's the worst shot of a moose calf you'll ever see.
Some A-hole with a pocket point and shoot tried to get closer to the calf
to get a shot. At that point, the calf headed back into the brush.
I was hoping the mother moose would make a little run at the guy.
I would have gotten some shots of it, but it didn't happen.
Then we have these guys. I think they're Clark's nutcrackers.
They were a dime a dozen.
In the northern part of Utah, we did see a Golden Eagle sitting on a rock.
We did see a lot of ravens, pronghorns, prairie dogs, hawks, lizards, stuff
like that. But I really didn't get any "good" shots. I got shots to prove we
saw them, but nothing to brag about.
That's about it for wildlife.

I wish I had a shot to prove we actualy saw the mountain lion :cry. I swear we did.

Tom, are you saying that the raccoon killed the guy?
I've never heard of that. Our next door neighbor has a large, 80 pound dog,
some kind of hound, that took on a raccoon. The dog ended up with a $300
vet bill, but it did kill the raccoon.
I'll admit that I never thought of a raccoon as a scary animal, but I'm
changing my mind about it.
