Heron gets goldfish

Caught this Heron catching what looks like a large goldfish out of a local pond here in Minnesota.

Wow, I love it. Imagine that, a goldfish. The color on the fish really adds something special to the shot... draws your eye right in there. The GBH is beautiful as well! You've got really nice light on the bird.. may I ask what time of the day you were shooting?

Thanks for your comments. The time of day was about 10:00 am. The pond is pretty small so you can get close. Some Egrets frequent it as well.

That's why I go out. Never know what's going to happen. He got three gold ones. Otherwise he was getting these little ones.



On another day, another one had to go deep to get them.



But they were bigger.



It sure is fun when there's some action going on.
