Who took this pic of me with my camera. I don't remember, but I'd like to
say thanks.

72513363-L.jpg

Some other sights from up there.

72513375-O.jpg

One of the flower shots that everyone saw me taking.

72513380-O.jpg

and just a little more wildlife.

72513390-O.jpg

All from Zion, all taken with a Canon XT with a Tamron 18-200 Di lens.

P.S. I added the left foot in that first shot. I was to big of a chicken to
really do it. The right foot was there though.

Thanks for looking. I've got to get to kate's shots soon.

What Not To Do: An Expert Shares Stories

In spring 2004, a group of teenage boys were fooling around atop Angel's Landing. One boy edged out farther and farther, 150 feet beyond where he should have been, and slipped. His friends turned only in time to see his head disappear out of sight.

The boy fell 900 feet and died, and Dean Wood is the climber the park service called to retrieve his body. An expert climber and canyoneer who co-owns Zion Rock & Mountain Guides, Dean has worked with the park's search-and-rescue team since 1996, and he agreed to share his advice for staying safe in Zion's backcountry, along with a few stories gone awry...

(from Zion & Bryce Canyon National Parks, Lonely Planet, March 2005)

Oh, Dave....don't go there, puh-leeeze!!! That first shot makes my stomach lurch! Even the 2nd shot, as pretty as it is makes me anxious. But....I love, love the 3rd shot!!!!....and the blurry, darting deer. :D

The first shot reminds me of a quote from the author of 'Cult of the Atom':

Laughing.gif, Dave, that's a bit close unless you played a lil' trickery :-)

I think it was me that took the picture of you. Right before you took this one of me:

That's a great shot, Dave! Great PS work on the extra foot, too. I certainly didn't notice at first look.

I think you did take the picture of me after I took one of you, but that isn't
the shot I took of you. You were standing in the same spot as I was.

    Anyways, thanks.

    Some more from Angel's Landing.

Kind of a side shot to see how far you're going to fall.

    72664391-O.jpg

about half way up looking out.

    72664399-O.jpg

Not the best shot of flowers that grow from a crack in the rock.

    72664401-O.jpg

    From the top.
Note the change in elevation from the shot mid way.

    72666782-O.jpg

and, the long way back down. (this is the easy part of the hike)
