I like it. However, I am quite sure they don't smile; they are nasty but we need them.

It would be nice to see the whole critter. Here is a tip on Wasps. Catch one in a clear container and put it in the fridge for a short time. (This is not cruel; getting cold happens every evening in cool climates)

After it slows down, bring it out and take some shots of it stretching its wings.

That's an interesting idea, just don't know whether I'd want to take the risk of getting stung. Done that too many times in the past :):. I shall bear it in mind Txs

I like this. Im curious about all the purple patches I can see. Are they die or something or is it just my screen. What would the shot look like if you turned it diagonally & cropped it?

I feel so tickled to get your imput Vangogh........thank you........it means a LOT to me..........are you picturing natural in color and cropped like this?

This is better I think, a lot of impact, but I also meant turning it so that the square blocks become diamonds. Don't what it would look like but would be interested to see.

I've been having a tough time getting the patches concept in my head... this one nails it though. So, for that reason, it gets my vote.

I think your current entry is a better pic than this one. This one might be closer to the theme, though. Doesn't it drive you crazy? rolleyes1.gif

You might try a reshoot on the truck, take a different angle, maybe go with a blurred/muted &/or b/w background.

As it stands you have a very strong entry though. Taking my advice might only make your decision more difficult.

A much stronger shot overall than the last rusted patch attempt. However, the focal point is the spidered glass, and not the rust, so maybe a weaker shot with regard to the challenge criteria. ?? Anyway, I think it's awesome and I'm still having trouble with the challenge criteria, so don't take it bad... it's tough. Something like the famous Supreme Court opinion stating, 'pornography: I can't define it, but I know it when I see it.'

    best shooting,

Thats the main thing........its amazing the shots you take........that you WOULDNT have.....had it not been for a specific challenge :D

I suppose the concept of Patch or patches is harder for guys cuz they dont do stuff like patchwork quilts..........which is made from many separate patches.......or there are things that can have just one patch where something is fixed. there could also be a patch of grass in the middle of a flower garden.........hope that helps La Dude........:D

I really like the truck. To look at the focus is the shattered window, but then the title drags the eye to the rusty patch. Love the colours in it too btw!

I agree with Kate - love the shot, window focus, rust spot draw, and colors are rich (even the colours) ...but for this challenge it seems too close to the same shot as the last challenge winner (who helps judge this challenge) (with or without the bra) and thus, in my mind, it would lose out in the "original idea" catch.

    Just my 2 cents worth

That was EXACTLY what I thought....that since he is judging this one, I took the photo with exactly the idea that he might like it in mind.......:Drolleyes1.gif
