Cherry blossom season in Japan, Easter 2006

I was on holiday in Japan for cherry blossom season this year. Here are a few shots from my trip:

1. Spring kimonos in Kyoto.
These ladies were waiting to get in to a tea ceremony.


2. Kyoto's Golden Temple


3. Geishas in Kyoto.
This was the first Sunday of cherry blossom season, so everybody was out in their finery to view it.


4. At the shrine in Miyajima, we saw a wedding.
This is the bride watching a dance performance. I loved her outfit.


5. Matsumoto castle and cherry blossom:


6. The snow monkey park near Nagano - bathing in a thermal pool:


7. Early morning tuna auction in Tokyo.
I have never seen so much fish...


8. Tokyo: too much sake.
The other subway passengers went to great lengths to explain that this is not a regular sight. :

Great showing Spagbag. Nice compositions and way to bring out some of the cultural aspects of your trips. I especially like the shot with the cherry tree framing the castle.
