The Hawk and the Crow

Saw this amazing dog fight going on in the sky -- a hawk and a crow were really going at it. The action was fast and by the time I managed to lock a focus, they were distant points in the sky. I did manage to salvage one shot as illustration.

Osprey Whisperer

Quite a sight..eh. Those crows are some bad arse birds. I saw one fighting with my osprey last week. I couldn't believe that crow was forcing the issue. The osprey was kind of laughing at the crow at first and ignoring him. The crow left him little choice but to "play".

Thanks, Mike. Bad-arse indeed. The ones in our neighborhood will fly into folks garages and yank all the trash out of the garbage cans.

I frequently see this type of thing. Like you say, every time I try to photograph the event, I end up with specks. Funny thing, there was a female redtail circling her nest when a brewers blackbird started giving her a hard time. Gutsy, considering the hawk fed blackbirds to her chicks.

Just yesterday I saw about ten blackbirds making a crows life miserable. What goes around comes around.
