Not much happening around here, bird-wise. So what's a photographer to do?

Hit the duck pond.

I gotta tell you, I forgot how much I like my Sigma 70-200 f/2.8. I have been killing it with a 2X converter for so long. With the converter, focus is a hit-and-miss proposition. The lens alone is deadly sharp, nice and contrasty.

Wow, fantastic. I have that lens. I was talking to a guy in our photo department (I work for a newspaper) he told me to take the teleconverter off, that the lens is faster without it. So tomorrow I'm going out with just the Sigma and see the difference.

This goose is GREAT... beautiful lighting on it and the color is vivid and sharp.

Yeah, I know.. With the TC I lose two stops. My 2.8 became a 5.6. Then, because the TC is such a piece of *^%^*&## I have to stop the lens down a bit. so I'm usually shooting at f/8. I know how bad the TC is, but the 70-200 and TC is what I got for a long lens. If Harry ever croaks and leaves me a bunch of $$$ I'm gonna buy some nice glass.

    Cheers!

Good one Rich. I have never liked the 2.0 TCs. The 1.4 does OK for me but I have never liked the 2.0s.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
