spend a few days with the grandkids. MY son, Jason, just returned from a year in Iraq so he and his horde (his wife, 3 granddaughters ages 8,10, & 11, one grandson (age 2) and their cousin (age 14) descended on my once quiet house.

W celebrated Conner's 2nd birthday

Meghan, age 10, tries to act very seriously but couldn't pass up the bubble wand

Naturally we had to do the Disneyworld thing

Our pool was very popular

Conner with his mom and grand-mom

I had a few $ left after Disney World for a pizza

With a few weeks rest I should be ready for another visit.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

    Fun!

And glad to hear he had a safe return. I'm sure I speak for many here when I ask that next time you get a chance, give him my personal thanks. Agree or disagree with the war, I have the utmost respect for those who serve.

Glad your son is home safely Harry. You have a beautiful family. The Dumbo and pizza shots are just great. I guess all that panning for birds helped you out on the Dumbo shot huh.

    Love the pics,

But I am SO relieved to know about your son!

I knew he was due home in April, but I was scared to ask you if he came home, how he was............or anything. I just worried.

Then you disappeared! Which I didn't notice til yesterday. That really scared me.

I even PMd someone who didn't know, or something. Anyway, I was still concerned, so I am very glad to see recent photos of your son stateside in your very own house where you have waited all this time!!!!

ginger (some of the photos are really good: your granddaughter in the pool, it comes to mind.........but there were others.) Flying Dumbo: those expressions are priceless and that is a piano topper shot!
After all is said and done, it is the sweet tea.

Thanks Steve, I am truly blessed. Grandpa went on a number of rides but had to stay on the sidelines for lots of them to take the pictures.

Jason going to Iraq was hard for a number of reasons. You try to raise them right but they have to make their own decisions. Back in the 80's I was interviewed for an oral history of Vietnam by this dude. My section of the book concludes with this quote:

"The only thing I got out of it is that my five year old son ain't gonna do what I did. I think there's been a Behret in every expletive war in this country's history, but there ain't gonne be no more Behrets in no more wars".

Sigh.... Maybe Conner will break our streak.
