Seems like baseball is the only thing I get to take pictures of these days. I wouldn't mind watching the game sometimes too, but my son, Matt, says "Aren't you taking pictures?" So...out comes the camera. :):

Nice, I would have liked to see the other guy sliding into second. Of course I'm making a few assumption on the shot.
Lucky you, my wife is always suggesting I put the camera away!

I would have liked that too! Unfortunately, I was a little too quick and my camera is a little too slow. I got this shot, which uncropped does show the runners foot, and the next one is a big cloud of dust. umph.gif

My wife never suggests putting the camera away, unless I am talking about spending money on it. rolleyes1.gif

By the way, is that a german shorthair in your avatar? Nice dog.

    odd twist
This has to be one of the strangest tracks I've seen a thread take - youth baseball to german short hair pointersrolleyes1.gif

OK, I'll bring them back together. My dad used to breed GSPs. We lived near Pheonix,AZ at the time (around early 70's), where the Cubs had their spring training. Well, the two come together when the Cubs pitcher, Fergie Jenkins, bought a pup from my dad and even came to dinner at our house. Even though I wasn't a sports nut, it was pretty cool to have some one famous at our house:D (sorry, no pix of the event, I don't think I even had a Brownie camera at the time)

    cheers,

    C.

    Another odd twist!
We were just at the Brewers game tonight and Bob Uecker had Fergie Jenkins in the booth with him! At the end of the game he appologized for hitting a home run off him, one of his 14 career 4 baggers.

Great looking pup Dave. I like the white on the pointers.

And he wasn't in front of the bag! :bash

Sorry, nice shot... poor second base coverage. He looks tough, what with the hole in his pants... what gives?

    ... come along.

He wasn't in front of the bag, but he did make the out. The hole in the pants is more of a statement of the school's budget crisis than his toughness! rolleyes1.gif

Correction: I suddenly recall that I was shooting from the left field fence. He was in front of the bag!
