First here is a Grackle I shot today while hopeing to get a BCNH. I knew where the BCNH was but had to manuever to get it in view. Unfortunately the BCNH spooked before I even saw it. Oh well, I had great light so I settled on a grackle.

Earlier in the day as I was leaving work (I left early today whoo hoo) I took a couple shots of the Kestral that lives behind my work. I decided to try something different though. I used my 300 f/4 IS handheld but also used two, yes two 1.4x TC's for a total focal length of 588mm. I used a Canon and Tamron TC so I retained AF and IS. To my surprise the shots were actually pretty usable. Here is a slightly cropped version and a 100% crop. Let me know what you think.

If you would like to see the unprocessed shots let me know and I'll post them as soon as I get back from trout fishing in Missouri. Wish me luck and thanks for looking!

Have a good time fishing. Tight lines Nick. Don't forget to take the fishing poles. Man can't live on photography alone. Good man. thumb.gif Land some trout....and take their pics. :D

Thanks Mike. I'll try to have a good time. No work, flyfishing in a natural spring fed river stocked by the onsite hatchery. It will be hard but I think I'll be able to relax.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
