pointing and shooting

Came across this picture the other day while going though my archive (believe me, it's not really as big and extensive as it sounds). I remember just pointing the camera at the ladybug and shooting without any consideration to exposure, DOF, etc. The least I thought about, I think, was the composition. 20D, 100mm macro @ f2.8
What do you think? C&C welcome.

    Russ,

I really like it! Not the typical close-up, very interesting, very coolthumb.gif

I like it from a technical aspect. The lady bug seems to be crawling over a knife-edge of focus field. It's amazing how narrow that DOF is and cool that the bug seems to be perched on it.

At an asthetic level, it's basically a blurry lady bug. ne_nau.gif Although it does have a certain quality about it. It almost looks like a painting. It is interesting.

Effective shot and it also demosntrates how shallow the DOF is on a macro lens when shot wide open.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
