Yesterday I did my first ever requested photoshoot at one of my oldest friends suprise party for passing one of the toughest exams anywhere on the planet - Cisco's CCIE. As I'm no pro I just tried to see if I could just capture the moment in as candid and relaxed style as I could. I've never taken that many shots in a day and so far only uploaded a few of them. I'd like your comments and opinions on these.

1. This is "Am"

2. This is G

    Hi George

Lol. Now that was funny becuase it was near enough spot on and the kind of thing he would say just to fool around.

    Hi Erik

Thanks for the comments - I had to convert the shots to B&W as I'd left the WB on a manual setting when I took Am & G's shots and that completely skewed the colour. The portrait I was really lucky as he'd just spotted Mike a really old friend of his who'd flown in from Singapore to add to the suprise.

Camerawise I was pleased with how the pics came out but I'm really noticing the limitation of a small EVF and eth lag between shots when everyones moving at pace.

    Dave,

Thanks for checking the shot and commenting and yeah the little boy was seriously cute - my only shot of him though as he seemed to have "ants in his pants"

    Cheers

I really enjoy the first shot. It is a bit unorthodox with a person looking away and the void of the white to the left, but to me this creates some anticipation. There is an element of mistury to it. Well done.

Indeed a relaxed shoot! But the results are very nice. I could look at a lot more without being bored. Great shots... You were short on the ball to take some great movement and expressions shots. I think you did really well. The black and white conversions add to the whole, very lovely series...

    You Nailed It!
These are just super!!! I love to look at people shots. Especially happy scenes like these. You did a wonderful job on both the color and the black and white, and you really nailed it capturing their expressions and the mood of the party! thumb.gif
