US/Imports

I've been seeing cameras and lenses and other camera accessories that say USA or Imported.
Are both the same good quality, or is the US better? I know we all would like to save money,
and if the Imported items are just as good, then I'll start getting the imports instead,
`cos I don't have a good job. It took me almost a year to get this D50
and the two lenses and flash on US prices, and tax.:rolleyes
Good thing about online-buying, is that we don't have to pay any tax.icon10.gif

Thanks!

The us and import ("grey" market) are the same thing only the usa version comes with a warranty. The grey market MIGHT come with a warranty but it will have to be sent back to whatever country it came from for the repair work.

    Oh, okay.

This sounds okay to me then. I'll buy US, for things I need to have a warranty on,
such as an expensive camera. I'll get imports on cheaper things like lenses under $300,
and let the camera shop in my town fix them if anything should happen.

    Thanks!

And since I know now that the qualities are the same... I was looking at a new lens on B&H.
The Nikkor 35mm F/2.0 had caught my eye for focal length, aperture and price, ($285 US).
I wonder if this would be a good lens for sharp and vivid pictures?

Also you can get a Mack Warranty for the Imports...this I have done when I bought imported cameras ... this way you don't have to shell out big bucks for hometown repair.
