That's what I used to call them as a kid.

Anyway, here are some shots from the local butterfly conservatory (link) -- some good ones maybe, but I'll let you judge.

Please be honest -- it's the only way I'll learn.

    Love the second one, I think the purists here would say "watch your wing clipping " :) Good job

    Yeah, I was annoyed by the clipped wing myself, but of the three shots I took of this little guy this one was the only one that was in focus for the head! rolleyes1.gif

    I like them all. I would like to see more light on the butterflies though, to really bring out the delicacy of their wings and the colors. These are still better than any I could do :D Thanks for sharing them.

    You got some good ones especially #4. Butterflies are very tough to shoot.
