The village is often voted as Spain's prettiest Village. Set in a valley in the Serra de Tramuntana, it is certainly a beautiful place.

    Really pretty
Except for the parking lot of cars in the first photo you'd think it was a photo taken far in the past.

I can't believe how clean and neat everything is too.

Love the stone, light, textures... a photographer's paradise.

Very pretty town nicely captured, Stan. I've never been there, but I do have fond memories of other places in the northeastern part of Mallorca. Looks like it is still possible to escape mass tourism there if you avoid the coast. Thanks for sharing.

Great photos! I was there for a while in 1974 and loved every minute of it. After seeing my own photos of the place, my wife has been bugging me to take her there ever since. Your shots bring back a lot of good memories.

Fine work, and thanks for sharing! thumb.gif

Thanks for the replies. With all the narrow lanes it is a great place for the 10-22mm lens but then I wonder if it looses the true nature of the place?

Dee: The car park stuck out like a sore thumb while I composed the shot but then that was where I parked the car while I walked around so I guess it can stay. As Richard says Mallorca is all about mass tourism so avoiding the crowds is not easy. The first shot was taken at 7.15 in the morning to avoid the buses on the mountain roads.

The only shot I got of anything other than pristine clenliness was this

Aparently most residents are not Mallorcan

MickNewton: There are some beautiful boutique hotels in the Village but don't tell the wife between $123 and $410 per night :D

Althos: I will look forward to seeing Cyprus. I hope Cyprus can retain some of its natural charm in its current tourism boom...

    Cheers
