Haven't posted for a while. It's been a difficult recovery after my knee surgery in February.

Since I seem to have a lot of time on my hands, I've been going through the old files and came across this shot that I took just before my knee surgery. It's a foggy sunrise at the San Luis NWR. The shot was taken while inside my car. I wanted the tree in frame, while trying not to show the Information Center on the left.

I'm probably going to make both versions available, but I'm curious as to what your opinions are as to which you like better. Thanks in advance! :D

    Subtle color works!!
I love black and white especially in landscape shots. But in this shot, the subtle color works marvelously!!! thumb.gif

    Hi Mike,

I am a big fan of B&W but in this shot I think I like the hint of color. So many days in the winter months everything around the San Jouquin Valley looks cold and gray. This bit of color warms it up a bit. I like it.

Take care of yourself the elk will be waiting for you.

The black and white is nice but the subtle addition of colour is great it adds such a nice warming feel to the shot. I know the feeling with the Knee op too, i hope you have a speedy recovery but still take some care.thumb.gif
    May I take your picture?

Hope your recovery continues well. I know joint injury seems to take forever to heal.

One more vote for the color.

Great shot Mike and my vote is for the colour version too. For me, that's what an early morning misty shot is all about - the colour of the suns starting to show through the mist.

At first I prefered the B/W, but after a while I agree the subtle color in the original version is much better. I'm going to offer both versions anyway.

Ed, I'd love to get out and shoot some more Elk, but it may be a while.

    Thanks again for your comments!

Nice to see you posting again Mike, I was wondering where you had been. I prefer the color version and agree that even though it is just a hint of color it really adds to this shot. Hope you'll keep posting, even if it's older stuff.
