I'm so used to posting at the Cool Forum that "saurora" said I should have
posted here. I don't comment much in this forum but just wanted to share.

Back Deck this morning and what a surprise!

Parent to left of me and the newest family addition to my right in the last two pictures.

It was fun to watch the awkward takeoffs and landings of the young one.

Thanks for looking.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Awesome captures, Andrea!!! Way to go. thumb.gif

It's hard to grab focus when the bird is nestled in branches like that, but it looks like you nailed it. Good work.

If I would have seen these in my backyard... that close... I would probably have died of excitement... or forgotten to turn my camera on... or something worse :D

Thanks for the nice welcome everyone. The hawks were a welcome suprise on Sunday morning.

I'm lucky that I keep the Canon 20D with the F4L on the table for just in case shots like this. I run outside and shoot and hope my camera settings are ok...no time to think about that!

The parent hawk was approx 30ft away and the young one about 40-50 feet away.

Don't expect shots like this all the time :D I'm about 200ft from a major highway and live in the city...not a country girl.
Our resident red tail hawks are the most excitement we have on our street.

I would have replied sooner but the mortorcycle accident that our quarterback Big Ben suffered today had me glued to the tv news.

Again...thanks all for the very nice comments.
