I took 3 shots with Aperture Priority at f/5.6 and 3 shots at f/10. The 3 at f/5.6 had blown highlights everywhere, the 3 at f/10 where just perfect. So…strong lightning needs in this case a higher f-value. SB600 fill flash used in all shots.

Here the 3 captures at f/10.

I hope you enjoy them.

    Dick,

I think you are taking better shots than you may think.

Unfortunately, that's the way with digital. Any shot, even by the most experienced photographers, can be made better in post.

    Thanks Ric.

Here's where "taste" come in. I also noticed that I could recover some dark aria's but at the expense of some pelican detail. The green reflection on the belly of the water I love to keep. Hmmm...Yes, yours look better at a glance but I rather stay with the green belly. Thanks for pointing it out Ric.

Good captures Dick. I usually shoot in aperture priority and handle the lighting by making EV adjustments.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Are my pictures so bad that you see a pelican for a stork? :D
