Seems we often jump on-line to complain about this or that, so I thought I would actually do the opposite!

I have had no problems with the drag and drop Green Smuggy for the last several weeks:clap I have pretty much been constantly uploading race photos since Sunday night (almost done) and have no troubles. I guess finding duplicate Java applications on my system, getting rid of them both, and loading a new one was the trick.

no complaints here....just a thank you!:thumb

Well on my PC (widows XP) I just went into add/remove programs and found the duplicates. Removed them, then went back to upload, at which time I got the latest Java application. Seemed to do the trick. Good luck.

I'd like to second the comment about uploading. I've been readying a new site and over the last couple of weeks have been uploading almost constantly from two sites (sometimes three), without a hitch.
One site is using star explorer and the others, the java smuggy.

Also very impressed by how Smugmug handles multiple uploads to the same category and also editing of the same category without a hitch.

PS and we've done just over 13,000 images and 28 Gb ... only another 30 Gb to go ... mwink.gif

it worked fine for a few days, like a charm.

i found every instance of java installed on my rig, uninstalled, restarted - installed when i got to the smugmug page, still get the same error.

    mostly works...
Big upload last night for me with no problems. Night before, not so smooth and it only uploaded about half my images before crashing and giving a javascript error message. Same thing the night before. But-- I upload quite a bit and this is the first time I've experienced a problem, so I'm not complaining. So far it's worked fine about 99-percent of the time, which is pretty good.

    anyone?

i run a tight ship on my pc. i reinstall windows from scratch twice a year. i am a careful browser, not stupid. i run anti-virus (avast), anti-spyware (windows defender) and keep my rig runnin smooth and defragged, with data and proggies separated. i dont browse porn or click on any of the very very few popups i ever get. i backup everything twice.

i just want this java uploader to work! ne_nau.gif

i did not install any extensions to firefox in the last couple of months, so it is not an extension conflicting.

I'm just getting started and I have to say that I am frustrated with the upload process. If I use the "Universal Drag & Drop" method, I get errors on certain files saying that they aren't the right format (they are .jpg). If I use "ActiveX Uploader" the status bar looks like all my photos get uploaded and then I get a non-descript error and only a few photos uploaded (maybe it's crapping out when it hits one of the files it thinks isn't in the right format?). The files are definately .jpg and were created from RAW with Digital Photo Pro 2.1. They were then modified with PS7.

    Any thoughts or suggestions?

Hi, sorry you are having troubles. Please check here, most common problem is the file size in bytes and pixels.

Thanks Andy. It was the filesize issue. I missed the 8M limitation.
